Maestro Le Ha My
Director and conductor of HBSO
Maestro Le Ha My was born into a family of eminent musicians. In his early years, his father – renowned Opera Director, P. A. Van Ha – emboldened him to pursue classical music. In 1999, he graduated from Hanoi National Conservatory of Music – currently referred to as Vietnam National Academy of Music – majoring in piano performance under the tutelage of Honorary Professor Tran Thu Bach Ha, PhD. In 2000, Le Ha My sought advanced training under Professor, P.A Nguyen Trong Bang, who fueled his passion to become a successful orchestra conductor.
End of the same year, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and Information and Hanoi National Conservatory of Music, he pursued advanced training at Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music, a prestigious institution that has nurtured the world’s most distinguished musical talents. While studying and working in Russia, Le Ha My orchestrated and conducted successful concerts with the Yaroslav Philharmonic Orchestra, the Moscow State Conservatory Orchestra, the Glinka Conservatory Orchestra of Magnitogorsk City, among others. In 2006, he graduated with honors and was awarded the Red Certificate of Excellency by Moscow State Conservatory Orchestra. Upon his return to Vietnam in 2010, Le Ha My commenced his work at the Voice of Vietnam Theater Orchestra, while regularly orchestrating concerts in collaboration with Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Vietnam Nation Opera and Ballet Orchestra, HBSO, as well as organizing several musical programs with Vietnam Television (VTV). He is currently appointed as a Director and conductor of HBSO.
