Triangle Concert Series is a monthly concert series organized by Vietnam Youth Music Institute (VYMI) at the Green Space 65 Cam Hoi.

Triangle is designed as an invitation to dialogue, where every three months we introduce a thought-provoking theme. With each theme, every concert becomes a story, a perspective, or a slice of life presented by talented young artists or groups with unique musical personalities.

If you pay attention, you'll notice that there are very few pure adjectives to describe sound; instead, many are borrowed from other senses, especially taste. For example, we often compare a warm, deep voice to a cup of tea, a sweet voice to sugar, or a sharp voice to a slice of fresh lemon.
Borrowing this metaphor, we came up with the idea of a concert that truly highlights the connection between music and taste. Like a banquet, each instrument becom an ingredient, and when combined, they create brand-new and rich flavors.
In this episode of the Triangle Concert Series, we invite you to enjoy a sweet and lavish afternoon tea with countless types of cakes. Much like any harvest feast, but sprinkled with a special homemade spice—the wit and humor of our curator, host and artist Phan Do Phuc.
Giving you a sneak peek into the menu for next Friday's afternoon tea, we will present Beethoven's Piano Trio Op. 11. We are particularly fond of this piece because Beethoven used a familiar melody from Joseph Weigl's opera L'amor marinaro ossia Il corsaro, titled "Pria ch'io l'impegno," which means "Before I start working, I must find something to eat first..."—a truly sensible sentiment. Next, we will find a wonderful combination of gentle sweetness and a touch of tartness in Rachmaninov's Vocalise, a piece for violin and piano, as light and refreshing as a juicy raspberry, sweet yet delicate. Finally, we will step into the rich, celebratory space of a giant layer cake with Mozart's Piano Quartet in G minor, K. 478, where the layers of sound blend like soft, flavorful cream.
