Vietnam Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) was established under Decision No. 79/VH-QD, dated 14/6/1984 under the Ministry of Culture (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). In the process of formation and development, VNSO has gradually achieved very encouraging achievements. The Orchestra performs about 40 concerts a year with a diverse repertoire ranging from classical and romantic musical compositions to modern works by Vietnamese and international musicians; building and performing works of many famous composers in the world under the direction of many famous international conductors.
